For my whistle project in my college metalsmithing class, I chose the bosun whistle because of its unique style and rich history. Historically, its high-pitched sound was used by crews on ships to pass commands over the noise of the sea. This adventurous background fit perfectly with the theme of a movie I loved as a kid, Quest for Camelot.

The design of the whistle itself was inspired by the shapes of the living plants in the movie that attacked the characters, adding a playful twist while still honoring the traditional form of the bosun whistle.
