These two sets of chai tea cups were inspired by custom orders from two individuals who had both spent time doing mission work in the same part of the world. In the community they served, sharing tea was a daily rhythm—a way to slow down, connect, and build relationships. When they returned home, they each wanted to bring a piece of that experience with them, and I was honored to help make that happen.

One set stays close to the traditional chai cup form, honoring the beauty and simplicity of the original. The other let me explore the shape more freely, stretching the form while still holding onto that same sense of warmth and connection.

Making these reminded me how powerful cross-cultural relationships can be—and how something as simple as a shared cup of tea can hold deep meaning. It's also a quiet reminder of the mission we all share: to go and make disciples of all nations, carrying Christ’s love wherever we’re sent.
