The Gem of Idaho

2022

This sculpture is inspired by my family roots in Idaho. My dad grew up on a potato farm, and while I didn’t grow up farming myself, that part of our history has always felt significant to me. The potato, for my family, is more than just a crop—it’s a symbol of where we come from and the hard work that shaped our story. I made this piece to honor that legacy and to reflect on how deeply those roots still run. To us, the potato really is the gem of Idaho.
